About Us
For over 20 years, Afro Innovation Group (AIG) has supported communities facing displacement, inequality, and marginalisation.
Our work began in Leicester, but our partnerships now reach across Africa, the Middle East and Europe, connecting community-led organisations who share a vision of dignity, opportunity and equality for all.
AIG International strengthens grassroots partnerships that are tackling poverty, promoting women’s empowerment, building livelihoods and driving peace and resilience at a local level.
Our Vision
A world where every community, regardless of origin, circumstance or geography, has the power, dignity and opportunity to shape its own future.
Our Mission
To strengthen locally led action by partnering with grassroots organisations that address displacement, inequality and poverty.
Our Work
AIG DRC
AIG-DRC unites 20+ Congolese organisations under one mission, building inclusive, community-led development across the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Our Global Network
While AIG-DRC is our central platform for locally led development, Afro Innovation Group’s partnerships extend across Africa, strengthening community leadership and sustainable growth.
Recognised Local Impact
A DR Congo newspaper feature recently highlighted Afro Innovation Group’s impact across vulnerable and isolated areas, particularly in communities where government services are limited.
Our team, led by Titi Tshipamba and Papy M. Mabi, works closely with local partners to improve:
-
Health equality
-
Access to food banks
-
Skills and livelihoods training
We also collaborate with university volunteers who gain hands-on experience and employment opportunities through AIG-DRC’s initiatives.

Case Studies
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, FT lost her husband to militia violence and was left to raise three children alone. AIG DRC provided her with health and beauty training, and after securing funding through local development banks, she opened her own salon. This support enabled her to provide for her family and send her children to school.
FT's Story
A political activist in the DRC, MG, was reintegrated into society with AIG's support after her release from prison. The organisation helped her gain training and employment, ensuring she could rebuild her life.
MG's Story
A staff member in the DRC highlighted the critical role AIG played when international bodies withdrew support. "AIG's work has been very important to us, filling gaps left by others and making a significant impact on our communities."
