Our Members

Across the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afro Innovation Group (AIG) works alongside a vibrant network of grassroots organisations united by a shared commitment to dignity, inclusion and sustainable development.

This prospectus showcases 18 member organisations of the AIG-DRC Platform, each playing a vital role in promoting community empowerment, reducing inequality and creating opportunities for lasting change. Together, these members form a diverse consortium dedicated to advancing social inclusion, women’s empowerment, livelihoods, education and health access across the DRC.

By working collaboratively, our members exchange knowledge, build capacity and strengthen local leadership, driving impact that extends far beyond their individual communities.

CIADEC Logo

Founded in 2005 and legally recognised in 2007, CIADEC/ASBL operates in Kinshasa and Kwilu to promote grassroots sustainable development. Its mission is to foster integral growth and profitable economic activities in sectors such as sustainable agriculture, informal economy, vocational training, environment, sanitation and road safety. CIADEC supports women market gardeners, young artisans, cooperatives and farming households. Key achievements include agricultural input distribution, farmer training and the establishment of women’s solidarity groups. Vision: to become a development enterprise serving local communities.

BUCOPAC - Bureau des Unions des Coopératives et Organisations Paysannes du Congo Logo

BUCOPAC/ASBL is a cooperative platform uniting peasant organisations, farmers’ unions, parking and transport cooperatives and agricultural agencies. Based in Grand Bandundu (Kwango, Kwilu, Mai-Ndombe) and Kinshasa, it promotes agriculture as the main source of employment and income for 90% of the population. Its work targets unemployed youth, single mothers and conflict-displaced families. Achievements include eight agricultural training centres, production hubs supported by ENABEL, and a commercial hub in Kinshasa with EU backing. It promotes resilience, social cohesion and income generation through agriculture.

Dynamique des Volontaires pour l’Émergence Nationale (DVEN) Logo

DVEN/ASBL operates in Kinshasa, Kasai-Oriental, Kasai-Central and beyond. Its vision is patriotic awakening and sustainable development as drivers of national emergence. Its focus is on youth, women and marginalised groups, including people with disabilities. Achievements include entrepreneurship training for youth, vocational training in plumbing and electricity and support to women entrepreneurs. DVEN combines advocacy and local action to foster innovation and inclusion.

FBP-EUP, a recognised public utility foundation, operates in 10 provinces, including Kinshasa, Kwango, Kwilu, Kivu, Maniema, Haut-Katanga and Ituri. Its mission is to assist vulnerable groups such as widows, orphans, unemployed youth, refugees and single mothers. Activities include agriculture, semi-industrial soap production, vocational training in tailoring and beauty, community savings and credit schemes, provision of portable water, health insurance, reforestation, and sanitation projects. It integrates social, economic and environmental development into its approach.

Vox Ubangi/ASBL, founded in 2013 in Gemena (South Ubangi), was created by environmental journalists and experts to promote clean and sustainable communities. It works with youth and women to foster environmental awareness, literacy and social engagement. Key achievements include school reading competitions, distribution of waste bins and awareness campaigns against deforestation and pollution. Vox Ubangi integrates climate action, digital inclusion and advocacy for healthier communities.

Centre d’Épargne et Crédit pour le Développement Mixte du Kwango (CECREDEMIKWA) Logo

CECREDEMIKWA/ASBL operates in Kwango and Kwilu to fight poverty and the lack of access to credit. It develops community savings groups (GECCAT) and farmer self-help groups (GAPE), supporting women market vendors, farmers, and vulnerable entrepreneurs. Key achievements include savings programmes with World Vision, household support with Christian Aid and resilience projects with government backing. Its approach emphasises initiative, solidarity and self-reliance.

The Baptist Church in Congo is a religious ASBL active in Kinshasa, Kwango and Kongo-Central. Beyond evangelism, it invests in education, healthcare and social development, supporting women, single mothers, orphans and vulnerable youth. Achievements include creating vocational training centres, constructing churches and supporting pastors’ theological education. As a member of international Baptist networks, it combines spiritual and social missions.

ORSERAVIMA Logo

ORSERAVIMA/NGO in Kinshasa supports street children, motorbike taxi drivers and small entrepreneurs. Activities include psychosocial care, providing secure motorbike parking, promoting savings and microcredit (up to $1,000) and training in mine awareness with the Congolese Mine Action Centre. Achievements include community savings schemes, microcredit programmes and the reintegration of street children. ORSERAVIMA focuses on building resilience through grassroots social and economic initiatives.

Mouvement Alerte is a youth-led Congolese human-rights organisation promoting economic, social and cultural rights, with a strong focus on gender justice and governance in the extractive sector. Active in Kinshasa, Lualaba, Nord-Kivu, Sud-Kivu, Maniema and the Kasai regions, the organisation combats gender-based violence and supports women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health through prevention, psychosocial care and advocacy.

Its key projects include EU-funded menstrual-hygiene campaigns in Kinshasa schools (2025), the KANTU Fierté pour les Jeunes menstrual-health comic (Jimmy Carter Centre, 2024), and GIZ-supported cross-border peacebuilding in the Great Lakes (2023).

Mouvement Alerte works to build informed communities that demand accountability, equality and environmental responsibility.

Société SOMMAC (SARL) Logo

SOMMAC Ltd is an industrial company specialising in the production, processing and marketing of agricultural products. Active in Kinshasa, Kwango, Kwilu, Kasai-Central and North/South Kivu, it serves health zones, NGOs, schools, displaced people, malnourished children and vulnerable women. Achievements include installing a major agro-processing plant in Kenge (Kwango), managing malnutrition in Kwango and North Kivu, and prevention projects against hunger. SOMMAC strengthens food security by combining industrial processing with community partnerships.

CGPM/ASBL, founded in 2022 in Kinshasa, supports vulnerable groups with a mission to build a fair and equitable society. It promotes solidarity, justice and social equality by assisting women and youth. Activities focus on advocacy and grassroots projects. Achievements include supporting orphans and elderly people. CGPM envisions a society based on generosity, dignity and improved quality of life for the disadvantaged.

Foundation Maman Cele (FOMAC) Logo

FOMAC/NGO, based in Kinshasa, focuses on empowering girls and women through vocational training in tailoring, beauty and hairdressing. It also fosters entrepreneurship and economic independence. With training centres in Ngiri-Ngiri and Bumbu, it offers opportunities for vulnerable women despite limited resources. FOMAC seeks financial and material support to scale its programmes and enable women to achieve independence and community integration.

Talitha Koumi/ASBL, based in Kinshasa, provides care and support to unemployed youth, widows, market women, single mothers and the elderly. It promotes community solidarity through assistance programmes, including orphan and hospital visits. Despite financial challenges, the foundation continues to implement humanitarian initiatives and seeks funding to expand its work. It combines social support with empowerment for vulnerable groups.

ASHEWO is a civil society association active in Kinshasa, Kongo-Central, Lomami and the Batéké Plateau. Its mission is to empower women, youth and displaced persons through agriculture, entrepreneurship, psychosocial support and advocacy. Achievements include creating an agricultural cooperative, forming partnerships with local groups and representing civil society at national congresses. ASHEWO works to build community resilience, foster social integration and promote equitable economic development.

CPEJDMS, founded in 2014 in Kinshasa, supports youth, orphans, widows and displaced children. Its mission is to provide vocational training, healthcare and advocacy. Achievements include constructing a school and health centre, hosting orphans and developing agro-pastoral activities. It focuses on capital access, youth employment and community representation, empowering vulnerable groups for long-term resilience.

NUNATU RDC/ASBL, based in Haut-Katanga, works for the social inclusion and empowerment of street children, orphans and vulnerable women. Its holistic approach includes psychosocial support, vocational training, literacy, entrepreneurship and economic reintegration. Achievements include caring for 700 street children, reintegrating 69 into families, training 186 youth and empowering women farmers through tomato processing initiatives under the AfDB-funded PABEA Cobalt project.

NURU NA TUMAINI RDC (NUNATU RDC)

FEUPAS/ASBL, active in North and South Kivu, promotes the rights of women, youth, children and the elderly. Its mission is to fight hunger, extreme poverty, inequality and gender-based violence. Supported by FAO and the Swiss Cooperation (DDC), it has implemented nutrition, resilience and food security projects in Uvira, Mwenga, Kalehe, Minova and Kirotshe. FEUPAS empowers vulnerable communities through social, economic and environmental programmes.

Évolution pour Tous is a Kinshasa-based NGO, formally recognised by ministerial decree n°CAB.MIN/AFF.SOC-A.H-SOL.NAT/N.A.M/0006/2024. It supports the socio-economic empowerment and protection of vulnerable groups, including women, youth, orphans and the elderly, with a strong focus on entrepreneurship and digital innovation.

Its work spans care and shelter for orphans and street children, construction of an accommodation centre in N’sele, a vocational training school in Mont-Ngafula, and a planned eco-tourism site in Mitendi. The organisation also assists road-accident victims and runs legal rights awareness campaigns.

Évolution pour Tous promotes collaboration between Congolese communities at home and abroad to drive investment in education, health and food security.

UFESAD – Union des Femmes Sages pour le Développement Logo

UFESAD ASBL is a women-led organisation working in Kinshasa, Kwango, Kasaï-Central, Équateur and Sud-Kivu. It supports vulnerable women through socio-professional integration, entrepreneurship, agriculture, livestock and aquaculture.

UFESAD addresses poverty, human-rights violations and youth vulnerability by offering vocational training and promoting preventive health and hygiene. Its achievements include training programmes for young women and the creation of agricultural cooperatives in Kasaï, alongside awareness campaigns on women’s rights and community leadership.
