AIG-DRC

A Platform for Locally Led Change in the Democratic Republic of Congo

AIG-DRC is a multi-stakeholder development platform bringing together over 20 Congolese grassroots organisations under one shared mission:
to deliver inclusive, community-led development across the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Hosted by Afro Innovation Group (AIG), AIG-DRC unites local expertise, shared strategy and strong coordination to address poverty, exclusion, climate fragility and systemic inequality.

All activities are guided by local ownership, supported by AIG’s two decades of experience in advocacy, empowerment and programme delivery.

Where We Work

AIG-DRC’s partners are active across multiple provinces, delivering grassroots-led development and social impact programmes in:

Kinshasa | Kwilu | Kasai Central | Haut-Katanga | Sud-Ubangi | Kwango | Maniema | Kongo Central | Ituri | Kasaï-Oriental | North & South Kivu | Maï-Ndombe | Sud-Kivu | Haut-Uele

Each partner contributes local knowledge and cultural insight to strengthen collaboration and ensure every initiative responds to the real needs of communities.

Our Five Pillars of Action

We co-design and deliver community-led programmes across five key areas:

Access to Capital

Supporting savings groups, micro-finance and cooperatives to improve financial inclusion.

Skills & Employment

Promoting vocational training, youth livelihoods & entrepreneurship opportunities.

Resilience & Climate Action

Advancing agroecology, reforestation and community-based climate adaptation.

Digital Inclusion

Expanding ICT access, digital literacy and online learning opportunities.

Advocacy & Representation

Amplifying community voices, supporting equity and driving policy change.

How We Work

AIG-DRC operates through a consortium model designed to ensure accountability, collaboration and long-term sustainability.

  • A rotating Steering Committee of Congolese organisations

  • Thematic working groups across our five pillars

  • A shared Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework

  • Formal MoUs with all member organisations

This structure ensures that leadership is local, coordination is shared and progress is measurable.
